GRADE ONE HIGH FREQUENCY WORD LIST

Sight words are words children should be able to read by
 sight not by the process of sounding out.  Helping your
 child learn these high frequency words will assist their
 reading ability greatly.
 
Here you will find our high frequency word list for each
 story in our Grade 1  Scott Foresman Reading Street
 series.  Each week your child will be introduced to new
 sight words.  The students will practice these words daily
 and refer to them often during the week.  The students
 will also keep a copy of this list along with the Kindergarten
 HFW List ( copy of which is posted on our class page) in
 their reading folders during the school year.  Be sure to
 keep practicing the old high frequency words also, because
 your child will see them often in the stories that we will be
 reading throughout the school year.  Working with them at
 home does wonders for them in the classroom.
